So, in case anyone was wondering, I'm actually alive. I haven't done too much art stuff though; I got a promotion at my job and wound up as a manager, so that eats up a good chunk of my time, with its varying hours and days, etc. But the money isn't bad and I really enjoy where I'm at. Besides that, I have acquired a good amount of pets, so now I have 6 cats and 2 dogs, and since the dogs are puppies (and a very active breed), I don't get too much sit-down time to do recreational stuff.
Admittedly, I don't really use social media. Like, period. I don't do Facebook, or Twitter, or anything. It just doesn't interest me. I'm more of a smaller, close-knit community type of gal, and with my job and recognizability around my town (that's what you get for working at the same place for 8 years lol), I don't feel comfortable sharing my personal life and opinions in a setting where people know who I am, where I work, and where I live. So my job + my distaste for being too public has cut down my computer usage quite a bit, resulting in just kind of silently leaving. That doesn't mean I've stopped doing art, though I haven't committed to doing a lot of artworks.
Actually, I've kind of expanded into traditional media instead of just digital art. I've been buying random art supplies from random brands, trying out stuff, and practicing things via coloring books. I even set up an art room, with a draft table, shelving, lights, and enough storage space for (most) of my supplies. That's been pretty rewarding. I think my favorite traditional medium is colored pencils so far, though I do enjoy watercolor paints. I have like, this big wooden art suitcase thing that I put all my pencils in because I have nowhere else to put them lol.
Besides that, I've been contributing a little to a Pokemon fan game, called Pokemon Wilds. It has a fairly small community at the moment, but did briefly have some interest on a couple websites, which is where I heard about it. I've been contributing sprites to the project, and I plan to post those here to share them and have an archive online. At the time of writing, I've gotten Whimsicott, Minccino, Cinccino, Impidimp, Morgrem's front sprite (not the animated one, just the initial frame), Grimmsnarl, Raticate, all the aforementioned Pokemon's backsprites, and Morelull's backprite approved, plus the shiny versions of each. I'm currently working on the overworld sprites for the Impidimp line.
So even though I've been pretty dead online, I've been keeping busy irl with stuff. I do want to share some of the things I've worked on and have been working on, so I hope I get around to actually posting some of the paintings I've done. I am thankful that even though I've been so inactive, I had a blown up notification box showing me that people still like my old works that I've posted here, and it makes me want to continue sharing my work to show the improvement I've made over the years, so a big thanks to everyone who finds what I make enjoyable enough to still watch and favorite despite my inactivity; it's small things like that that drive me to want to get better at art, even if it's behind the scenes. I deeply appreciate the support from all of you!
It's been like... forever... since I've posted here. And I've noticed that people are still following, asking questions and stuff. I feel bad that you guys haven't gotten responses, and I actually kind of miss posting here. So, you know, I think I might start posting art again and trying to get back into this site. So, yeah, if you guys commented on stuff, I'll try to get back with you soon about it. Really sorry you've all been waiting!
